Director
Ishtiaq started his accounting career within the Management Accounts department for a large PLC, after which he moved into the top five accountancy practices working on outsourced finance functions. Ishtiaq qualified with ACCA then went on to set up his own successful accountancy practice in 2007 working with a large range of clients, from a variety of sizes and background, with their business planning, forensic accounting and all elements of tax planning. With extensive experience in VAT & tax enquiries, Ishtiaq specialises in forensic accounting. He is a keen cyclist and runner who likes travelling in his spare time.
Qualified as an Accountant in 2002 with ACCA. She has worked for one of the top 10 Accountancy firms before joining the Abacus Tax Advisory team in 2012. Rakxa is not only involved in the preparation and completion of Statutory Accounts and Tax Returns, but also specialises in HMRC Investigations, Let Property Disclosures and strategic Tax Planning for clients.
Amelia began working at Abacus in 2016 when she was studying AAT. First involved in the VAT department and company setups, she later she progressed into drafting sole trader accounts and personal tax returns. Amelia completed her AAT qualification in 2018. Her main focus now is company accounts and rental income accounts. The majority of clients she works along with are professionals in the healthcare sector, such as optometrists, dentists, orthodontists, surgeons and anaesthetists.
Junaid joined the company 2018 as Assistant Accountant, working with within the payroll and VAT department helping ensure that businesses are compliant with the requirements of the HMRC. Now qualified at AAT Level 4 AAT, he prepares Company Accounts and VATs. His main accounts include care homes, motor industry accounts, recruitment consultants. Based in North Leeds, Junaid is an avid cricket and football fan, a keen car enthusiast and a great team player.
Financial Accountant
Tabarak qualified as an Accountant with ACCA in 2018 and is involved in preparing company and sole trader accounts as well as ensuring clients are compliant with pension regulations as well as MTD.
Senior Accountant
Samiya qualified as an Accountant with ACCA in 2008 and has always worked in practice predominantly with medium to large sized organisations, providing advice and guidance on tax planning. Samiya also works within the Forensic Accounting team providing detailed forensic accounting reports required for fraud investigations.
Tax Consultant
Robert has got over twenty three years’ experience in advising accountants, solicitors, banks and Independent Financial Advisers on taxation in both the UK and overseas in relation to tax planning and tax problems. Has a network of International qualified Tax professionals and relevant experts in countries throughout the world. Any jurisdictional advice is incorporated into the overall recommendation and ratified by local specialists. Robert is a former Coordinator for The Chartered Institute of Taxation for the North of England, Scotland & Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man; and a former Chairman and Treasurer of the Leeds Branch of The Chartered Institute of Taxation.
Insolvency Consultant
Gareth is a licensed insolvency practitioner, with experience in all aspects of business recovery and formal insolvency, both corporate and personal. Having originally trained in the general practice of an independent firm of accountants, Gareth chose to specialise in business recovery and insolvency in 1999. He is a member of the association of business recovery professionals (R3), and is a regular speaker for their introductory programme, for graduates and new business recovery professionals.

Madhuri has an MSc in Accounting and Finance from Leeds University Business School. Experienced in preparing Limited Company accounts for all sectors, she also does VATs and payroll and is a great team player. Madhuri can work with a wide range of software systems, including Xero, VT, Sage, FreeAgent and Brightpay. In her spare time, she enjoys music, travelling and cricket.
Eden is one of the first team members that clients will deal with as they set all new clients up on the system and manage all the onboarding. Eden also deals with HMRC queries.
